Scott Crane Named Smashburger CEO

The innovative better burger restaurant chain Smashburger announced in November 2013 that Scott Crane has been appointed as the new CEO. Crane, who has served as the president of Smashburger for six years, replaces former chief executive officer David Prokupek.

Crane brings years of experience in leading operations teams for a number of successful retail and restaurant brands, including Blockbuster, Pizza Hut, and Taco Bell. Since joining Smashburger in 2007, he has helped to build a strong operations team and a pioneering business model in the “fast casual” sector of the industry.

Rick Schaden, the co-founder and chief executive officer of Consumer Capital Partners and a member of the Board of Advisors of Smashburger, said that Crane has played an important role in the growth and success of Smashburger, which has more than 200 locations across the United States.

“We couldn’t ask for a better combination of experience and passion for our brand,” Schaden said.
