Smashburger recently announced that the franchise will expand into the Orlando, Florida, area in the coming year. Two Spurs LLC of Palm Coast, Florida, made an agreement to open 18 new restaurants in the Orlando and Jacksonville areas over the course of the coming decade. The franchisee enlisted Atlantic Retail Properties to find the ideal sites for introduction to the Orlando market. The company hopes to sign its first lease agreement for Smashburger in January 2014, and Two Spurs plans to have two or three locations open within the coming year.
The introduction of Smashburger to Orlando means new jobs for the area, both in terms of temporary construction work and permanent positions. Outside of Florida, the company plans to establish new restaurants in Charlotte, Oakland, and Atlanta in the coming months. In Atlanta, Smashburger is teaming with Bamaberto LLC to build 23 new locations throughout the greater metropolitan area. The franchise currently operates in 30 states and five countries and has become one of the most talked-about new craft hamburger eateries in the United States.
